≋EVERCOILSHEAT TRANSFER, CONSIDERED.

TECHNICAL NOTE

Dry cooler or air-cooled condenser?

Similar construction can serve different thermodynamic duties.

Dry cooler

A dry cooler transfers heat from a circulating liquid to ambient air. Water or a water-glycol solution is a common application; the intended operating mode does not rely on condensing that circulating liquid.

Air-cooled condenser

A condenser rejects heat from refrigerant, including its change from vapor to liquid. Refrigerant, design pressure, circuiting and operating conditions shape its construction.

Why the distinction matters

V-shaped coils and top-mounted fans can appear in both. Identify the fluid and duty from the specification or nameplate, not fin color or external appearance.

What to send with an enquiry

Include fluid or refrigerant, design pressure, inlet and outlet conditions, duty and intended equipment arrangement.
